Alison works as a freelance
instructor coaching people for competitions, preparing
students for exams and helping people build partnerships
with their horse so they can have fun!
Alison began studying for
her Preliminary Teacher's Certificate in 1994 with Michelle
Carman at Greenacres in Puxley and went on to gain work
experience as an Instructor with Grafton, Pytchley,
Northampton and later Taupo(NZ) Pony Clubs teaching all age
ranges. Alison is a regular instructor at mini, junior and
senior PC camps. Alison later trained at Brampton Stables
and The Gleneagles Equestrian Centre passing her AI, II and
in 2005 her BHS I Stable Managers exam.
Alison enjoys competition
coaching and has worked extensively with Junior riders
including travelling as assistant coach with the NZ Junior
Polocrosse team to Western Australia in 2000. (Alison is a
qualified UKPA and PC Polocrosse umpire and coach) Alison
coached the Bay of Plenty provincial Gymkhana team at the
North Island Championships and prepared riders for the North
Island Horse Trials and SJ Champs in 2000/01 Back home ,
Alison has prepared teams for the UK PC polocrosse
championships and prepared riders for affiliated dressage to
area level.
Alison trains with Sabrina
Jones FBHS, Peta Roberts FBHS and Jenny Ward BHS I List one
and has enjoyed success in 2005 with Mrs. Rachel Harris'
Roughway Jack gaining 35points in affiliated dressage and
competing in her first dressage to music competition at the
Aspley Guise and District Riding Club Championships.
2005 has been hectic with
Alison settling into her new home in Bow Brickhill and
having the horses at home for the first time in her career.
Also in the Summer , Alison was chosen to represent the BHS
on the Leonardo Da Vinci Exchange programme and travelled to
Spain to coach exam students.
Christmas 2005 went straight into the best ever
list when Rachel gifted Alison Roughway Jack.
2006
has been a year of consolidation but also a year
of milestones! Hilary Anderson completed her BHS
AI, Douglas and Laura backed Patience and Macha.
Kim, Jenny and Chrissie have bought new horses.
Rachel has qualified Sebastian for the Area
Festival National Finals. Alison has achieved BD
Trainer's accreditation and competed at the
Nixon Equine Search For A Rider Finals,
Trailblazers Championships, BRC
National Freestyle Championships and Pet Plan
Area Festival. " I am getting a taste for
winning and am really looking forward to making
